The rules of the route.
What you agree to when you send a parcel or carry one, what may never be sent, and who is responsible for what.
The short version: MyRoute introduces senders to travellers already going that way. The agreement to carry a parcel is between those two people — we are the marketplace, not the courier. Users set the price, payment is released after a confirmed handoff, and the prohibited-items list in clause 7 has no exceptions.
The clauses below are the full version, and they are what governs. Read them alongside our privacy policy.
1. The agreement
These terms are between you and MyRoute Technologies Private Limited ("MyRoute", "we", "us"). By creating an account, listing a trip, sending a parcel or otherwise using MyRoute, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Our privacy policy forms part of these terms. Where we publish additional rules for a specific feature, those rules apply on top of this document.
2. What MyRoute is — and what it is not
MyRoute is a marketplace. We introduce senders who have a parcel to travellers who are already making that journey, provide the tools to agree terms, and record the handoff.
We are not a courier, a carrier, a freight forwarder or a logistics operator. We do not operate vehicles, we do not employ travellers, and we do not take possession of any parcel. The contract to carry a parcel is between the sender and the traveller. Travellers use MyRoute as independent individuals, not as our agents or employees.
This is not a formality — it decides who is responsible when something goes wrong. Clause 14 sets out the limits of what we are liable for.
3. Who can use it
You may use MyRoute if you:
- Are 18 or over and can enter a binding contract.
- Register with accurate details and complete identity verification when asked.
- Are not barred from the service under any applicable law or sanctions list.
- Have not previously been removed from MyRoute.
4. Your account
One account per person. Keep your details current and your password to yourself — you are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you think it has been compromised.
Verification reduces risk; it is not a guarantee about any person. Continue to use your own judgement about who you hand a parcel to and what you agree to carry.
5. If you are sending a parcel
- Describe the parcel honestly — contents, weight and size. A traveller agrees to carry what you described, not what turns up.
- Never send a prohibited item. See clause 7; the list is not negotiable.
- Pack it properly for the journey. If it is fragile, valuable or perishable, pack for that and say so.
- Be at the pickup point at the agreed time, and confirm the handoff in the app when the parcel changes hands.
- You are responsible for the legality of what you send and for any duty, tax or permit it requires.
- Do not ask a traveller to carry anything that was not in the listing, and do not agree to complete the transaction outside the app.
6. If you are carrying a parcel
- Only list journeys you are genuinely making, with the space you genuinely have.
- Inspect the parcel at pickup. If the contents do not match the description, refuse it and report it — you are entitled to.
- Keep the parcel with you and secure for the whole journey.
- Deliver to the agreed person at the agreed place, and confirm the handoff in the app.
- Comply with the rules of the carrier you are travelling with — airline, rail operator, bus company — and with any customs or border requirement on your route.
- You are responsible for your own tax on what you earn, and for having whatever licence or insurance your local law requires.
- Do not open, use, or tamper with a parcel you have agreed to carry.
7. Items that may never be sent
These may not be sent through MyRoute under any circumstances. Attempting to do so is grounds for immediate and permanent removal, and we will report it where the law requires.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances and the equipment for producing them.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, fireworks and their component parts.
- Flammable, corrosive, toxic, radioactive or otherwise hazardous materials, including compressed gas.
- Cash, bullion, bearer instruments, lottery tickets and gift cards not registered to a name.
- Live animals, and human or animal remains or bodily fluids.
- Counterfeit goods, and anything that infringes someone else's trademark or copyright.
- Stolen property, and anything you do not have the right to send.
- Prescription medicines without a valid prescription, and unregistered pharmaceuticals.
- Tobacco, alcohol, vapes and their liquids, where sending them without a licence is restricted.
- Obscene material, and any material involving the exploitation of a child.
- Anything requiring a licence, permit or temperature-controlled chain that neither party holds.
- Anything prohibited by the airline, rail operator, bus company or border on that route.
If you are unsure, ask at [email protected] before you list it, not after.
8. Price and payment
The price of a delivery is agreed between the sender and the traveller. MyRoute does not set it and does not add a courier markup. Where we charge a service fee for using the platform, it is shown before you confirm.
Pay through the app. Payment is released to the traveller after the handoff is confirmed at the destination — keep it in the app until then. Paying outside the app removes every protection this clause gives you, and we cannot help you recover it.
Travellers are responsible for declaring and paying tax on their earnings. We may provide a statement of what you earned; that is not tax advice.
9. Handoff and confirmation
A delivery has two recorded moments: pickup and drop-off. Both are confirmed in the app by both parties. That record is what we rely on if there is a later dispute, so confirm at the moment the parcel actually changes hands — not before, and not from somewhere else.
Falsifying a confirmation is a serious breach of these terms and will end your access to MyRoute.
10. Changes and cancellations
Plans change; tell the other person as early as you can through the app. Cancelling after a match is agreed may mean a fee, and repeated late cancellation affects your rating and can lead to suspension.
If a journey is cancelled by the carrier or made impossible by something outside either party's control, neither side is at fault and any amount held is returned to the sender.
11. If something goes wrong
Raise it with the other user in the app first — most problems are a delay or a misunderstanding. If that does not resolve it, report it to [email protected] within 7 days of the expected delivery date, with the parcel reference and anything you have.
We will look at the record of the transaction, ask both sides for their account, and decide how any amount we are holding is released. We do that as the operator of the marketplace, not as an insurer or an arbitrator, and it does not affect either party's right to pursue the other directly.
Report anything unsafe or criminal to [email protected] immediately, and to the police where appropriate. We investigate every report of misuse and remove anyone who abuses the platform.
12. Things you must not do
- Impersonate anyone, or use someone else's identity for verification.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against another user.
- Take a transaction off-platform to avoid fees or protections.
- Post false listings, fake ratings or misleading route information.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Use MyRoute for anything unlawful, or to move anything covered by clause 7.
13. Content and intellectual property
The MyRoute name, mark, and the design and software of the apps and this website belong to us. You may not copy or use them without written permission.
What you post — listings, photos, messages, ratings — stays yours. You give us a licence to host, display and distribute it as needed to run the service, and to keep it in our records where a dispute or a legal duty requires. We may remove content that breaches these terms.
14. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
The service is provided as-is. We do not warrant that a match will be found, that a journey will run to time, or that any parcel will arrive undamaged — those depend on people and carriers we do not control.
Because the contract to carry is between the sender and the traveller, we are not liable for the loss, damage, delay, theft or misdelivery of a parcel, for the conduct of any user, or for the accuracy of what a user tells you. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the service fees you paid us for the transaction in question, or a sum equivalent to that transaction's agreed delivery price. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnity
If a claim is brought against us because of something you did — sending a prohibited item, breaking a law, or breaching these terms — you agree to cover the resulting losses, costs and reasonable legal fees.
16. Suspension and closing your account
You can close your account at any time in the app. Some records are kept afterwards, as set out in the retention clause of our privacy policy.
We may suspend or remove an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where there is a risk to another user, or where the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a route to appeal — write to [email protected].
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka. Nothing here removes a consumer-protection right you have in the country where you live.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law change. The date at the top reflects the current version. For a material change we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect; continuing to use MyRoute afterwards means you accept the new version.
